Contributions to our General Fund help us to implement new programs, improve on existing programs, and to provide for the children that we serve. Gifts to this fund also aid us in meeting new and evolving needs that arise for families and the communities in which we work.
Our Hope In Action Fund supports children in their health, educational, and livelihood needs. Contributions are used in emergency situations, like when natural disasters strike, in times of extreme hardship due to health challenges, and when families are unable to pay for school activities for their children.
The purpose of our International Feeding Programs Fund is to feed enrolled children who would otherwise go hungry so that they can be alert at school and ready to learn. This fund supports programs in the Philippines, Kenya, and Ethiopia to buy grains, meats, vegetables, and cooking supplies to feed children.
Donations go to support feeding programs in the U.S., such as our backpack feeding program, which gives children in Eastern Kentucky food to take home on the weekends and food in the summer when school is not in, and they are not receiving meals on a regular basis.
Donations to our COVID-19 Response Fund will be used to provide food and emergency supplies to the children in our program who are in immediate need during this uncertain time.
We add new children to our program every day, and finding enough sponsors for all of them is one of our greatest challenges. The global need is so profound that some children wait months for a sponsor. Gifts made to our Shared Hope Fund provide immediate assistance to children awaiting sponsorship.
In Kenya and Ethiopia, children need mosquito nets to protect them from mosquito-borne illnesses so that they’ll be healthy enough to attend school. Each year, we purchase thousands of nets, thanks to donations to our Mosquito Net Fund, which we distribute to our sponsored children and their families.
Giving a child a pair of shoes and socks can mean the difference between them going to school or not. Children Incorporated has always made a point of providing good, solid shoes to these children, knowing that shoes can be too expensive for many families. As such, our Shoes and Socks Fund has been one of our most meaningful endeavors.
